Updated 1st January 2021<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1. All weapons, when not in use, will be sleeved and \/or locked in a car boot.  Snap caps should only be used when you have finished shooting and the weapon is sleeved.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Whilst waiting to shoot, all weapons will be broken and unloaded. Semi automatics will have the breech opened and locked and carried muzzle up.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. No more than two cartridges to be loaded into semi-automatics at any one time<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Do not eject spent cartridges with the muzzle facing anywhere but downwards.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

5. When shooting is finished weapons will be cleared and made safe before leaving the stand.<\/span><\/p>\n

6. If a mis-fire occurs, leave the weapon pointing down range for at least 30 seconds. Clear the weapon, remove the cartridge and hand to a designated safety officer for disposal.<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Do not turn around on a firing point with a weapon (either loaded or unloaded).<\/span><\/p>\n

8. Only shoot from behind the cones and in the direction of the arrows found on each stand.<\/span><\/p>\n

9. Do not commence shooting until a clear order has been given to do so.<\/span><\/p>\n

10. No shooter shall fire out of arc (i.e. across the path of another shooter).<\/span><\/p>\n

11. DTL (Down the Line) shooters may carry cartridges in a broken weapon between stands 1 and 5 but not between 5 and 1.<\/span><\/p>\n

12. In the event of a trap malfunction cease firing immediately, clear all weapons and notify a member of the committee or safety officer. Under no circumstances attempt to rectify the fault. Wait for qualified assistance.  <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

13. To avoid injury all traps must be switched off before loading. Always load from the rear of the trap. If in doubt seek qualified assistance.<\/span><\/p>\n

14. All spectators are to remain in the designated areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

15. On hearing a loud blast of a whistle or claxon cease shooting immediately, clear all weapons and wait for instruction to re-commence.<\/span><\/p>\n

16. Safety glasses and hearing protection are recommended.<\/span><\/p>\n

17. All members to read and digest the Risk Assessment document in the clubhouse.<\/span><\/p>\n

18. In an emergency, grid references for the shooting ground can be found in the clubhouse.<\/span><\/p>\n

19. Do not mix cartridges of a different calibre in belts or pockets. A 20 bore cartridge will fit into the breech of a 12 bore with disastrous results.<\/span><\/p>\n
