Accident Procedures

“If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.” That expression often applies in an emergency situation, when well-meaning individuals fail to do the correct things.

Before you worry about treating any casualties, the first priority is to assess and secure the accident scene and prevent anyone else (especially you) from getting hurt. You can help a victim most by staying calm and following a few basic steps:

1. In case of an accident (however trivial) inform a member of the committee

or safety officer who will stop the shoot immediately.
2. Ensure the person is comfortable and administer first aid if practical.
3. Call for the emergency services required giving precise location ie
Winnows Hill on the B6306 Slaley to Blanchland road
4. Give GPS co-ordinates ie LATITUDE 54.8793 LONGITUDE -2.0307
     ( OS GRID REF 981537 )
5. Position someone on the road entrance to assist emergency services.
6. Clear car park of vehicles to facilitate air ambulance landing if required.
